The New Orleans Saints are re-signing veteran wide receiver Chris Hogan, who worked out for the team in July, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. It was "always the plan" to bring him back after roster cuts.
The #Saints are re-signing WR Chris Hogan today, source says. Impressed them this summer. Was always the plan to bring him back as part of the roster reshuffle following the cut to 53.

The Saints were looking to add some depth at receiver this summer after Michael Thomas underwent ankle surgery in June and will miss the early portion of the 2021 season.
In five games with the New York Jets last season, Hogan caught 14 passes for 118 yards. After the campaign, he declared for the PLL Draft and went undrafted before signing a contract with the Cannons Lacrosse Club before being traded to the Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club.
Hogan is currently listed on the Saints' depth chart behind Thomas, Marquez Callaway and Lil'Jordan Humphrey.
The 33-year-old won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots. In 100 career games, he has caught 216 passes for 2,795 yards and 18 touchdowns. In addition to the Jets and Patriots, he has also played for the Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers.
Garafolo adds that the Saints are also re-signing quarterback Trevor Siemian after releasing him last week.
And Trevor Siemian will be back with the #Saints today as well. @TomPelissero reported this would happen and wouldn’t you know it, it did. https://t.co/4tBjPy2JrZ
