Phoenix Suns Star Kevin Durant Reveals True Feelings on Anthony Edwards Trash-Talking Him
Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

While Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards is still green when it comes to playoff success, Kevin Durant is not. After their match, the Phoenix Suns star shared what he thought about the former’s trash talk on the court.

During the first game of their series, the Timberwolves went home with the 120-95 victory . Anthony Edwards looked phenomenal when he posted 33 points by connecting 14-of-24 from the field and 50 percent from beyond the perimeter. Karl-Anthony Towns made 19 points and seven rebounds, while Rudy Gobert added 14 points and 16 rebounds.

For his part, Kevin Durant led the Suns by dropping 31 points on 64 percent shooting from the field and seven rebounds. Devin Booker had 18 points and five assists, while Bradley Beal contributed 15 points and six assists.

The Timberwolves have home court advantage over the Suns as the former got their first win at the Target Center. The Kevin Durant-led team needs to steal one in Minnesota if they want a chance to advance to the next round.

Phoenix Suns Star Kevin Durant Gets Real Minnesota Timberwolves Guard Anthony Edwards’ Trash Talk

During the game, Edwards was seen yelling at Durant after making a tough shot against him. The Suns’ All-Star forward, meanwhile, just laughed him off, as can be seen in a video posted by Hoop Central:

Edwards explained how fired up he was, in a tweet posted by Ben Golliver on X:

Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards on his exchange with Suns’ Kevin Durant in blowout Game 1 win: “I think everybody here knows that’s my favorite player of all time. That was probably one of the best feelings ever in my whole life, for sure,” Golliver tweeted.

For his part, Durant explained how he felt about Edwards talking trash to him, as seen in a video posted by Duane Rankin on X:

Both stars are seen as the most instrumental in their team’s respective playoff quests. Durant averaged 27/1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists during the regular season, while Edwards tallied 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in 79 games.

With a possible six-game stretch ahead of them, Durant and Edwards will have a lot of time going back and forth on the court. If it does reach a pivotal Game 7, expect the tension and competition between these two teams to go rise up.
