Knicks’ Jalen Brunson Reacts To Getting Olympic Snub
Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

The Team USA roster for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris is loaded with NBA talent. This could be the last hurrah for veterans such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, who will be looking to lead their country to gold.

With how deep and talented the pool of players is for Team USA officials to select from, there are always going to be a few snubs. With Kawhi Leonard of the Los Angeles Clippers expected to receive the final spot in the 12-man roster, people will debate about who is the biggest snub and should have made the team.

One name that is oddly absent is New York Knicks star point guard, Jalen Brunson. He has turned himself into one of the best players in the NBA and was part of the FIBA World Cup team in 2023.

But, his name was not on the expected roster for the 2024 Summer Olympics. This is something that will certainly irk Knicks fans as they would love to see their star helping his country try and take home a gold medal.

However, it isn’t something that seems to phase Brunson much. He was asked about being left off of the roster during a press conference on Tuesday and provided the kind of response we have become accustomed to hearing from him.

“I was just focused on playoffs, I didn’t even look at the list,” Brunson said on Tuesday, via Knicks Videos on X.

The Knicks, who earned the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, will be facing off against either the Philadelphia 76ers or Miami Heat in their first-round series. Those teams will face off against each other on Wednesday night in the NBA Play-In Tournament.

If getting snubbed from Team USA does hurt Brunson, he certainly isn’t showing it. He is focused solely on helping the Knicks advance as deep into the playoffs as possible, as this summer isn’t something he is thinking about at all.
