The Toronto Blue Jays Double-A affiliate the New Hampshire Fisher Cats have kicked off their 20th season of play. They play in the Eastern League and are in the Northeast Division. The team has played at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, NH since the 2005 season, their first season they played at Gill Stadium also in Manchester. Before moving to New Hampshire, they were known as the New Haven Ravens playing in New Haven, Connecticut. 

Fisher Cats History 

The Fisher Cats have seen some big names come through and play for them with names like Jose Bautista, A.J. Burnett, Travis d’Arnaud, Adam Lind, Jordan Romano, Aaron Sanchez, Marcus Stroman, Alek Manoah, Cavan Biggio, Bo Bichette, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The Fisher Cats have won three championships winning in their inaugural season in 2004, then in 2011, and again in 2018. That 2018 team was loaded with talent, they were managed by current Blue Jays manager John Schneider and had Jon Berti, Bo Bichette, Cavan Biggio, current Red Sox CBO Craig Breslow, Jonathan Davis, Santiago Espinal, Randal Grichuk, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Lourdes Gurriel, Jordan Romano, and Aaron Sanchez. 

2024 Season 

The Fisher Cats currently have three prospects in the Blue Jays Top 10 according to ITD with Alan Roden, Josh Kasevich, and Adam Macko who each rank sixth, seventh, and eighth. The Fisher Cats are currently 5-3 following two losses yesterday in a doubleheader. They did have a big comeback win on Friday night after being down 7-1 after 3.5 innings and 8-3 after six they scored seven runs between the seventh and eighth innings to win 10-8. That was their third comeback win in the first eight games of the season, on Opening Day they were down 2-0 after five and won 5-2 then last Sunday they were down 3-0 after three and put up a five spot in the fourth and won that game 8-4. Today in the final game of their six-game series they will send another prospect to watch in CJ Van Eyk to the mound. 

Three Top 10 prospects

OF – Alan Roden

Roden who is the Blue Jays sixth overall prospect. Through seven games he is hitting .290 with a .656 OPS; he has one double, three RBI, five runs scored, a stolen base, and two walks. 

INF – Josh Kasevich

Kasevich who is the seventh overall prospect has gotten off to a hot start as he is hitting .500 with a 1.109 OPS; he has three doubles, seven RBI, four runs scored, one stolen base, and one walk. He leads the league in hits and batting average, and is tied for third in doubles, tied for sixth in RBI, and is third in OPS. 

LHP – Adam Macko

Macko is the eighth prospect and he has made two starts this season. He is 0-0 with a 3.00 ERA, a 1.00 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts in nine innings. His first start came last Sunday going four innings giving up three runs on two hits; he walked two and struck out six. His second start came yesterday in the second game of the doubleheader and he went five innings, didn’t allow a run on four hits; he walked one and struck out five. His next start will likely be next Friday. Macko is eighth in innings pitched, 16th in ERA, and tied for sixth in strikeouts. 

Coming Up:

For the rest of the 2024 season the Fisher Cats will host the Binghamton Rumble Ponies who are the affiliate of the New York Mets, the Harrisburg Senators who are the affiliate of the Washington Nationals, the Somerset Patriots who are the affiliate of the New York Yankees, the Richmond Flying Squirrels who are the affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, the Reading Fightin’ Phils who are the affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Portland Sea Dogs who are the affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, the Erie SeaWolves who are the affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, and the Hartford Yard Goats who are the affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. They will also travel to Portland, Somerset, Binghamton, Reading, Hartford, Erie, Harrisburg as well as Akron to take on the RubberDucks who are the affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians, and Altoona to face the Curve who are the affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
