Of course, there is certainly an argument to be made that there is no reason for the Diamondbacks to hang their heads.
However, this did not stop manager Torey Lovullo from bursting into tears following his team’s elimination.
Before the questions even came rolling in, Lovullo was seen hugging his family as he attempted to prevent any further tears.
He then told reporters, “This is painful.” “I want to run away and hide for a few days,” and “I just want to eat ice cream.”
Torey Lovullo has been the Diamondbacks manager for seven seasons now.
Just two years ago, he was right in the middle of a 110-loss season, now, the Diamondbacks came just three wins away from a second World Series Championship in franchise history.
It may sting now, but the Diamondbacks undoubtedly have a bright future ahead.
